In Episode 23, we share a specific recent incident that led us to today's topic: the death of compassion in our social and economic structures. We also talk about how our community of individuals acted compassionately, and we ask how much we can bear when structural solutions either fail or are rejected. In the Trumpster Fire, we criticize Trump's handling of Puerto Rico, specifically, his insult to the San Juan mayor, his paper towel toss, and his paternalistic comment about the disaster relief budget. Our newest segment, Fierce Woman Warrior, begins TODAY, which is a brief profile on an amazing woman who is actively working to change her community. Our first Fierce Woman Warrior is Pema Chodron. Our Media Minute encourages you to read Kristin Neff's book, Self-Compassion: The Proven Power of Being Kind to Yourself and Michael Stone's Yoga for a World Out of Balance, and our Activist Action asks you to consider lending money to a woman in another country via Kiva Loans. Empower yourself by joining our community and feel less alone in this topsy-turvy time. Share this episode with your social media networks and ask others to listen and join this fight (we are also on iTunes, Stitcher, TuneIn, and Google Play Music). We are in this together.
Please listen and share our podcast with your like-minded friends. We need your help to build our audience and community! Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and on our web site where we post links and additional information from the current episode. Thank you for listening!
